GIANT FROG

Frog

The Australian tree frog

It is found in the rain forests of northeastern Australia and southern New Guinea. It is commonly called the Australian Giant Tree Frog . The scientific name caerulea means "blue" and indicates the actual tendency for this species to generate subjects with this coloring. Normally, however, it is bright green on the back and often also have white spots like the belly. It has three large pads that give it this obese aspect as a small Buddha , even if in reality it is an agile climber and jumper. If disturbed, its livery becomes opaque brownish in color. To recognize males it is necessary to observe them at night, when they emit a characteristic sound to attract females.
